Custom Order: Henry's Debut
I've had a very special assignment, sewing the outfit worn by my newest nephew on the day his parents introduced him to their church and the world.

I only wish I could have been there in person and not states away to see him in this little suit.
I followed an older Simplicity pattern. I wouldn't call it vintage but it was a reproduction. I used basic white Oxford weave and made the pin-tucks with contrast red thread. I haven't had much success with a snap setter, so, I sewed plastic snaps in the legs for easy diaper changing.
The buttons on the front are for show and feature little red rocking horses. Basic clear acrylic buttons make the opening in the back. The pattern called for shorts, but it is winter, so I lengthened the legs to make trousers. Happy with the result.

Meet Harper
Hey all Cutie Petutie Originals has just introduced something really special in time for the holiday season. Rachel has really outdone herself this time. Meet Harper!

This line has two coordinating pink and silver prints from which to choose. The minky has texture! And you can get them with satiny cream or luxurious silver ruffles. Don't delay, order now and like them on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cutie-Petutie-Originals/113745311984082. I think I need to custom order one of these in 60"x120"!

The Agata puts a modern twist on the classic messenger bag with its eye-catching color style, and simple organizational pockets. This messenger bag with unique all-over print easily transports your laptop, books, school supplies and personal technology. Removable shoulder strap drops approximately 24.5" long (this can be adjusted).
It's a natural option for everything from a gym carryall to a diaper bag for a hip parent. Interior cotton lining with a multifunctional organizer pocket. Exterior flap pockets include a velcro closure for security. Fold over flap fits inside or outside the main compartment.
Approx. Dimensions: 11" high by 17 " wide and 4" deep.

I Heart Babies

When I get word of a baby on the way, I get so excited. So for my dear friend Netti, her third child was reason for much planning and designing. I created a diaper bag with messenger bag styling.

The modern fabric inspired me to create one large compartment for all of her big items, I think her wish list included baby stuff, a laptop, and scriptures. Additional exterior pockets circle around the front and sides for organizing small items. These gusseted pockets can easily store mobile phones, drink bottles, diapers and wipes. And larger patch pocket under the flap is big enough for a file folder, magazine, changing pad, or even an extra set of clothes. A small fob and ring under the flap keep keys within reach (or pacifier), but out of sight.

The tough cotton webbing shoulder strap is long enough for across the body styling but also short enough for over the shoulder ease. The flap secures in place with a button and elastic closure and is enhanced with a stylish raw edge appliqué. This new, original design is available for custom order on my etsy site, if you want one too. But I'll try to get a few on there before the holiday season.

I'm trying a production seamstress gig!
I'm sewing for http://cutiepetutieoriginals.com/.
Actually the mom who owns this business is amazing, and I was honored to start stitching on her team. If you're looking for a good baby gift, these can't be beat. Honestly -- from a seamstress perspective -- excellent quality materials, experienced seamstresses (who are also moms), clean studios, and great prices.
I'm just going to recommend that you buy two of everything, because your kids will want one in their hands at all times -- even when one is in the wash. My kids can't leave them alone.
